Capacity building of vocational counselors for the promotion of women's entrepreneurship in Djibouti

As part of the European Union (EU)-funded Women and Girls Empowerment Project (FEMFI), UNDP is supporting the efforts of the Ministry of Women and Family Affairs (FEMFI) to consolidate the economic empowerment of Djiboutian women and girls.

As entrepreneurship is seen as an alternative job search, business growth and thus economic expansion of a country, the Ministry of Women and Family, in partnership with UNDP, organized training for entrepreneurship trainers in the interior regions to build the capacity of the regional offices' staff.

This training was provided by the senior staff of the Ministry of Women and Family to the staff of the regional offices in the premises of Women Empowerment Center of Dikhil, Ali-Sabieh and Arta from 06 to 23 December 2021 and aimed specifically at building the capacity of the vocational counselors.

This training plan is composed of several modules that correspond to themes related to entrepreneurship and the specific objectives of strengthening the empowerment of Djiboutian women and girls. This training allowed them to become familiar with notions such as gender equality, entrepreneurial culture, team spirit and marketing in order to better advise Djiboutian women and girls in terms of professional insertion.
