Tree Planting Activity for Balancing the Carbon Footprint of Implemented Works
Community Engagement Activities
As part of its broader efforts to integrate cultural heritage preservation with environmental sustainability, the TCCH initiated tree-planting activities. The tree-planting activities were held in Nicosia on 13 and 22 December 2024, with the participation of local caretakers, community members, and other stakeholders. In addition, trees were provided to local caretakers in nine regions, which were strategically selected to align with the distribution of TCCH projects.
A total of 1,800 trees—selected for their ecological, historical, and cultural relevance to Cyprus—were planted by local authorities and stakeholders, fostering a strong sense of collective responsibility. In addition to promoting biodiversity and improving air quality, these trees contributed to long-term environmental stewardship around heritage sites.
