Description of investment | Construction of the Centre which will host three types of activities:
The centre is fully equipped in order toto host approximately 70 visitors offering basic accommodation facilities and catering. Focus and attention will be mainly devoted to the young generations looking to meet, engage, share and experience.
KCC is organising or hosting cultural events from all over Cyprus and beyond, promoting the multiculturalism of the island and providing the opportunity for young artists and talented people to present their skills and passion towards culture and art. At least 6 events will be organised annually.
The KCC aims to develop into a diversified education centre offering a wide variety of educational programs targeting to serve the general educational needs around the acquiring of general knowledge, including but not limited to, basic elementary education, programs on the history and culture of Cyprus, languages and tradition, nature preservation and recycling, agricultural development of organic products etc. |
Intended beneficiary | Direct beneficiary: Kormakitis Centre for Cooperation (KCC) Indirect beneficiaries: young people from all communities of Cyprus; with annually around 120 young people benefiting from camping activities, 600 visitors for cultural activities and 75 children from educational activities. |
Scope of works | The building constructed is a two-storey reinforced concrete building. The surface area per floor is:
The ground floor includes 3 classrooms with toilets, corridors, a reception area, service rooms, toilets, a restaurant/conference hall, a fully equipment kitchen and storage room. The first floor contains 4 dormitories with bathrooms, a room for the educators, toilets, service rooms and corridor. On the roof, a 15kWp PV system had been installed. |
