Knowledge-sharing activities

Community Engagement Activities

As part of the  Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage's (TCCH) ongoing efforts to promote youth engagement, a series of educational and knowledge-sharing workshops were organised across several locations throughout the island, including Nicosia, Famagusta, Larnaca and Lefka/Lefke. These workshops aimed to raise awareness about the work of the Committee and to strengthen youth participation in the preservation of Cyprus’s shared cultural heritage through informal education.

Students, educators, local key stakeholders, Heritage Youth Ambassadors (HYA) and young professionals from both communities were invited to participate in the workshops, which covered a wide range of topics within the cultural heritage conservation and preservation field, including digital heritage, preventive maintenance, conservation techniques, and sustainable site management.

Additionally, knowledge-sharing activities were conducted in collaboration with local technical chambers and also local institutions, where participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences, share good practices and explore technical challenges related to heritage preservation in their respective regions. These activities not only enhance participants’ technical and practical understanding but also fostere dialogue and cooperation among young people from both communities, contributing to the TCCH’s broader goal of promoting peace and mutual understanding through shared cultural heritage.
