UNDP Chemicals and Waste Portfolio in Latin America and the Caribbean

February 10, 2026

The UNDP Chemicals and Waste Hub is a global network of partners supporting countries in their transition toward environmentally sound chemicals, waste management and sustainable production and consumption patterns that are free from toxic chemicals and global warming substances, and instead advance circular economy models, low-carbon and resource-efficient technologies, pollution-free environments, and zero-waste societies.

The UNDP Chemicals and Waste Hub is central to global efforts to protect people and the planet from hazardous chemicals and waste, while advancing climate action and a green transition. While addressing the triple planetary crisis, the main lines of work are sustainable cooling and energy efficiency, chemicals and waste management, circular economy, multi-sectoral global programmes (i.e: iCOAST, PlanetGOLD, PCBs, FARM), among others.

Although global in scope, the UNDP Chemicals and Waste Hub maintains a strong and diversified portfolio in Latin America and the Caribbean, drawing on more than three decades of regional engagement and expertise.
