UNDP Belarus Launches Health Procurement Project to Strengthen National HIV and TB Services
May 30, 2025

UNDP Belarus and the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Medical Technologies, Informatization, Management and Economics of Healthcare, an organization subordinate to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, have signed a financing agreement to support the country’s continued efforts to tackle HIV and tuberculosis.
Ensuring Quality and Continuity of Medical Supplies
With funding from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, this project supports national efforts to contain the HIV epidemic in its concentrated phase and to reduce the incidence, prevalence, and mortality associated with both drug-sensitive and drug-resistant tuberculosis.
As the implementing partner, UNDP will use its global procurement and logistics expertise to deliver $3.5M in quality-assured medicines, diagnostics, consumables, and medical equipment to healthcare facilities nationwide on time, transparently, and cost-effectively. All procurement will meet international standards, including WHO prequalification where applicable.
Making a Lasting Impact
While the country has made significant progress in reducing HIV and TB cases, sustained support remains essential. This new project reinforces national healthcare priorities and the goal to end HIV and TB by 2030, contributing directly to Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being.
UNDP Belarus is proud to support this vital public health effort, which will strengthen partnerships, improve services, and help save lives for a healthier future.
