MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR THE GANGES RIVER DOLPHIN IN HALDA RIVER OF BANGLADESH

October 4, 2023

Halda River in the southeast of Bangladesh supports one of the few remaining populations of the globally threatened Ganges River Dolphin (Platanista gangetica), so this Management Plan has prepared to ensure the conservation of the species and its habitat. This has developed under Expanding the Protected Area System to Incorporate Important Aquatic Ecosystems Project (EPASIIAEP), which is an initiative of the Government of
Bangladesh (through Bangladesh Forest Department) with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Global Environment Facility (GEF).
