A training programme was held for communication specialists of 15 vocational education and training centers.

April 27, 2023

The European Union (EU), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the State Agency on Vocational Education (SAVE) held a training event to develop experts with the aim to improve the visibility and public relations of the vocational education and training (VET) institutions in Azerbaijan.

As part of the “VET for the Future” project, the training event was held to introduce communication specialists to modern approaches and tools in education marketing and strengthen their work capacities.

The event in Baku involved 22 people including 15 communication specialists of the VET institutions from the capital, as well as Barda, Gabala, Ganja, Gakh, Ismayilli, Jalilabad and Qusar cities, and the trainers and the representatives from the UNDP and the SAVE. The training was designed to help these specialists augment the strategic visibility and improve targeted communications of the VET centers.

The activities on increasing the visibility and prestige of VET, organizing advocacy and public relations are carried out based on the project’s strategic recommendations in the area of communications. The participants discussed the importance of advertising and branding,        the introduction of education to various target groups, also learnt about marketing plan, and the content production in different social media platforms.

This event is the 7th upskilling programme organised by the project in the field of communications for the staff of the VET centers. The capacity building increases their potential in communications and helps successful presentation and promotion of vocational education and trainings. These supportive actions will be continued to build awareness of vocational education and training in the country and attract more youth and private sector companies into the VET sector.
