Green Growth and Jobs Accelerator
The Green Growth and Jobs Accelerator Project (GGJAP) is a UNDP initiative supported by the Danish-Arab Partnership Programme (DAPP) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, launched in 2022 to promote sustainable business growth and green job creation across the Arab States region. The Accelerator supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in transitioning to greener operations while expanding employment opportunities, particularly for youth and women.
The project is implemented across Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, and Jordan, with expansion to Algeria in 2026, and delivers targeted business development advisory, strengthen sustainable practices, and foster innovation in the private sector and facilitates SMEs access to finance through partnerships with financial institutions and investors.
Key Impact
What we Do
The Accelerator supports SMEs to grow sustainably by strengthening green business models, improving access to finance, and improving operational efficiencies. Through tailored advisory, mentoring, and peer learning, participating enterprises enhance governance, develop green products, and build more resilient and competitive businesses.
Delivered through a five-month Accelerator programme, the initiative equips SMEs with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to better thrive in the green economy. By 2027, the Accelerator will support up to 800 SMEs, contributing to the creation of 4,000 direct green jobs, with a strong focus on youth employment and gender inclusion, and an estimated 10,000 indirect jobs across supply chains, while fostering long-term impact through an active Green Growth alumni community.
In addition to the Accelerator, GGJAP includes a portfolio of self-paced digital courses covering topics such as sustainable finance, impact measurement and management, investment readiness, and alternative funding for business growth. The digital learning offer is a core vehicle for sharing GGJAP’s expertise with a wider SME ecosystem and is open to entrepreneurs, youth, and ecosystem actors across the Arab States region.
The programme also promotes youth engagement through initiatives such as Youth4Sustainability, connecting young people with participating enterprises to work on practical solutions and business challenges, while strengthening employability and innovation.
Our Team & Partners
The Green Growth and Jobs Accelerator is implemented by the UNDP’s Regional Bureau of Arab States and Country Offices in close collaboration with Flat6Labs. Together, they combine expertise in sustainable development, private sector growth, and youth employment to ensure effective delivery and impact at regional and country levels.
