After being named Startup of the Year at the Tunisia Investment Forum 2026, ProVerdy founder and CEO Souha Bejaoui shares the story behind the business and how support from UNDP's Green Growth and Jobs Accelerator helped prepare it for growth.
“When I started, I was completely new to the startup world,” says Souha Bejaoui. “There was so much startup jargon I had never heard before, and I was learning everything as I went.”
Just two years later, ProVerdy, the company she co-founded with Tunisian entrepreneurs Rahma Abida, and Hamza Bêjaoui, was named Startup of the Year at the Tunisia Investment Forum 2026.
In 2025, the start-up participated in UNDP's Green Growth and Jobs Accelerator, and received five months of acceleration, mentorship and investor support. Since then, the team has grown from six to eight people and now works with clients across Tunisia's financial sector from its office at El Ghazala Technopark in Greater Tunis.

Before founding ProVerdy, Bejaoui worked in the financial sector, where she saw many companies collecting large amounts of data while struggling to turn it into useful business insights. She wanted to build a solution that could help businesses makes better evidence-based decisions.
ProVerdy now helps businesses calculate their carbon footprint and prepare sustainability reports through an AI-powered dashboard. As Tunisian companies increasingly export to European markets, more businesses are being asked by buyers, investors and customers to measure and report their environmental impact.
Only a few weeks after launching the company, ProVerdy secured its first client.
"We were introduced to Banque de Tunisie. After several rounds of presentations and interviews, they decided to buy our services. That first client gave us visibility and credibility and became an important reference for us."
Today, ProVerdy works with organisations across the banking, insurance and manufacturing sectors, including Banque de Tunisie, BH Bank, Star Assurance and Novo Nordisk, with several additional contracts under discussion.

Turning technology into a business
"The mentoring and go-to-market coaching gave us practical tools that we're still using today. As an entrepreneur, you're constantly doing things for the first time, meeting investors, approaching clients and negotiating contracts. Having someone guide you through those processes was incredibly valuable."
One of the biggest benefits, Bejaoui says, was also being part of a cohort of entrepreneurs facing many of the same challenges.
"We all came from different sectors, but everyone was trying to grow a business. Being able to exchange ideas and learn from each other's experiences was incredibly valuable."
As part of the programme, UNDP also supported ProVerdy's participation in Mobile World Congress in Doha, where the team met investors, companies and potential partners from across the region, including Qatar Development Bank and Vodafone.

Many of those conversations continue today as the company explores opportunities in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, France and Senegal.
Looking ahead
Since participating in the Accelerator, ProVerdy has secured US$90 000 in investments and grants, created two new jobs, expanded partnerships in Tunisia and internationally, and is exploring new markets across the region.
Winning Startup of the Year, Bejaoui says, is about more than recognition for ProVerdy.
"It shows that there is a real place for climate innovation in Tunisia. It also shows that sustainability is becoming part of how businesses compete and grow, not just something they do to comply with regulations."
