The guideline for Trail Network Design and Structures Maintenance contribute to the establishment of a unified standard of signage for national system of outdoor hiking trails in Albania, and respective guideline and regulatory framework. 

This guideline was developed as procedure manual for protected areas staff responsible for the maintenance and operation of the protected areas trails system. The goals and objectives of this trail maintenance guidelines is to provide standards for trail maintenance and management, so that trails are sustainable over the long-term, require low maintenance, allow for safe public access, protect the natural and cultural resources and meet recreational needs of the park user.
