June 9, 2025

The UNDP Zimbabwe Annual Report, themed "People," chronicles the impactful highlights of our collaborative efforts across the nation. This report features 18 compelling stories, offering a diverse glimpse into the lives of individuals and communities we are privileged to serve. Working hand-in-hand with our partners, UNDP Zimbabwe channeled nearly US$154 million in development support, contributing to significant advancements and tangible improvements in people's lives.

We are privileged to have worked with many people and being a part of remarkable achievements that:

  • kept more than 1.2 million people on life-saving HIV treatment and strengthened the health system.
  • contributed to a reduction in hardship for nearly 400,000 people during the past drought - proving the value of investing in building resilience.
  • added 400 more hectares of climate smart irrigation, enabling year-round productivity.
  • provided key strategic support to the for Debt Dialogue and Arrears Clearance process.
  • expanded the cumulative renewable energy installations to 13.9 megawatts, ensuring reliable power across sectors through solar for health, solarized boreholes, mini-grids, solarised irrigation schemes, solarised dams, and biodigesters - mostly to the most marginalized communities.
  • reversed wildlife poaching trends and stabilised animal populations.
  • restored the 1.8 million cubic metre capacity Wanezi Dam, after its destruction by Cyclone Dineo in 2017

These stories reveal the people and places behind the numbers.
