Rapid change in the global climate continues to exert serious risks to agriculture. In Zimbabwe, climate change is constraining agricultural production in many ways: shortening of the growing season due to late start and early termination of the rainfall season; rising temperatures and temperature extremes; low rainfall and irregular rainfall patterns, increasing frequency and severity of dry spells, drought, and floods; and emergence of new pests and diseases, among others.
