The Health4Life Project is inviting young people aged 15–35 from Lusaka and Copperbelt to apply to become Mental Health and Health Champions.

We are looking for young leaders who have navigated mental health challenges and are now actively promoting wellbeing in their communities.

Selected Champions will:

  • Mentor peers and offer community support
  • Raise awareness on mental health, substance abuse, and non-communicable diseases (NCDs)
  • Promote healthier behaviours and lifestyles among young Zambians

Why This Matters

Zambia’s young population is growing rapidly, and so are the health challenges affecting adolescents and youth:

  • 65% of the population is under 25; 52% is under 18 (2022 Census)
  • Poor mental health and risky behaviours are increasing
  • Mental health conditions affect approximately 20% of the population
  • Suicide is the third leading cause of death among youth aged 15–29
  • NCDs and substance abuse are rising, affecting long-term wellbeing

Who Can Apply

Young people who are:

  • Aged 15–35
  • Living in Lusaka or Copperbelt
  • Have experienced mental health challenges and are actively championing health and wellbeing in their communities

Application Deadline: 15 December 2025

Join us in championing youth health, raising awareness, and mentoring peers for a healthier Zambia.
