The National Artificial Intelligence Capacity, Current Situation and Needs Assessment Report was prepared by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Türkiye, with funding from UNDP’s AI Sprint Initiative and in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye, Directorate General for National Technology and Artificial Intelligence.

Taking a comprehensive approach to assessing Türkiye’s AI ecosystem, the report examines existing technical infrastructure, computing capacity, human resources and sector-specific needs. Based on data gathered from representatives of the public sector, private sector and academia, it provides an overview of current capacities and identifies key areas for development.

The report also assesses the requirements for developing the National Artificial Intelligence Data Centre. It aims to contribute to enhancing Türkiye’s competitiveness in AI, strengthening its sovereign AI capabilities, and shaping policy priorities and a roadmap for sustainable infrastructure investments.
