Sustainable Living Film Days (SLFD)-Diyarbakır will meet the audience online at Surdurulebiliryasam.net on April 1-4

Sustainable Living Film Days continues with Diyarbakır. It is organized by Jîngeh Collective which is found by people who believe that it is an urgent need to transform the cities to be more ecological as well as creating ecological living spaces in the rural regions. The SLFD is supported by Movies that Matter Foundation and UNDP Turkey and presents 12 short and feature documentaries from the official selection of Sustainable Living Film Festival.

Program

The online program of the SLFD is aimed to show the system interactions and root causes of many human right violations fron a sustainability perspective and share examples of how solution oritented and passionate people create positive impact. The event will host guest speakers to talk after the film sessions at Jingeh Collective’s Youtube page. Lawyer Selvi TUNÇ from Göç ve İnsani Yardım Vakfı (Migration and Humanitarian Aid Foundation) will talk about child labour and child slavery, Dr. Cegerğun Polat will talk about health as a human right and who defines it, architect Elif Ebru YILMAZ will talk about city, biopolitics and social space, Özlem EROL from Moyy Atölye will talk about Moyy as a space where sustainable design and production practices meet and Dr. Eray Çaylı from the European Institute, London School of Economics and Political Science-LSE will talk about the potentials and barriers of art in the face of extraction economy.

SLFD selection The selected documentaries from the official selections of the Sustainable Living Film Festival are covering a wide range of topics in relation to human rights, such as basic health services and health as a human right, child slavery and child labour, supply chain responsibility in food and textile sectors, war, conflict and justice, climate change, right to water and right to ecological food. The films are carefully selected which have a holistic and systemic view showing the interdependencies between social, ecological and economical problems and include creative solutions by change makers and social entrepreneurs about the problems covered in the films.

Students, teachers, people from local NGO's, private and public organizations such as local businesses, municipal and other public authorities are all welcome to attend the event. Registering to the website Surdurulebiliryasam.net by the “Takipçi" button and to the sessions at the event page is necessary. All screenings are free of charge.
