Eco Future Grant Programme completes informative sessions across Türkiye
July 31, 2025
Informative sessions held in six cities guided CSOs through the grant programme’s objectives, application process, and funding opportunities
The Eco Future Grant Programme has successfully concluded its series of informative sessions with civil society organizations (CSOs) across Türkiye, reaching over 390 participants. Following the initial launch event and first information session in Ankara, subsequent sessions were held in Istanbul, Izmir, Gaziantep, Erzurum, and Samsun, targeting CSOs from various regions, including Marmara, Aegean, Eastern, Southeastern, and Black Sea regions.
Designed to strengthen the role of civil society in climate action and biodiversity conservation, the Eco Future Grant Programme has drawn significant interest throughout Türkiye. By providing both technical assistance and financial support, the programme seeks to enhance the capacity of CSOs in their efforts to mitigate climate change and protect biodiversity.
The informative sessions provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the programme’s objectives, the application process, the required documentation, and key information on the Guidelines for Grant Applicants. Attendees were guided through the grant application system and offered step-by-step instructions on proposal preparation and annexes. The sessions played a crucial role in ensuring that potential applicants are well-informed and prepared for the application process.
Funded by the European Union under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III) and implemented in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Türkiye, the programme will continue until February 2028 with a total budget of US$4.39 million. It provides grants ranging from US$50,000 to US$150,000 for projects focused on climate change mitigation, biodiversity protection, and environmental resilience, with a project duration of 12 to 18 months.
Eligible applicants include CSOs from across Türkiye with innovative ideas to tackle climate change and biodiversity preservation, who may collaborate with other CSOs, local authorities, unions, development agencies, chambers and public schools as partners. Applications are open until 11 August 2025, 17:00 (local time).
The initiative offers CSOs a valuable opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders, foster strategic partnerships, and access resources to amplify their impact in climate and biodiversity action. By providing technical assistance and grant support, it enhances CSOs’ capacity to develop and implement innovative solutions, build partnerships, and create impactful projects focused on climate change mitigation and biodiversity conservation.
