Colombo, Sri Lanka, 4 January, 2023: United Nations Assistant-Secretary-General (ASG) and Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, Ms. Kanni Wignaraja concluded her 2-day official visit to Sri Lanka which took place from 3-4 January 2023.
During her visit and discussions with national leadership, she explored new avenues of support from multilateral and bilateral partners to Sri Lanka—particularly focusing on socio-economic recovery through sustainable and innovative financing, strengthening food security efforts, renewable energy and e-mobility, along with follow-ups from the recently concluded UN Climate Change Conference COP27. These and other next steps will also be supported by UNDP.
