Government of Japan partners with UNDP to provide USD 3.8 million to support women’s economic wellbeing in Sri Lanka

On 24th April, Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Mizukoshi Hideaki, Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka and Ms. Azusa Kubota, Resident Representative, UNDP Sri Lanka, launched the 2 new livelihood projects that address the economic crisis in Sri Lanka at Temple Trees.

Revolutionizing rain-fed farming for food security

Champika and Shirley are two of 5,200 vulnerable farmers benefiting from seed support through the Citi Foundation’s collaboration with UNDP Sri Lanka’s ‘Individual and Private Sector Giving Facility for Emergency Relief’ established back in June 2022.

What we do
