The policy brief examines how redesigning Rwanda’s Clean Cooking Results-Based Financing (CC-RBF) scheme can accelerate the country’s transition to clean energy while protecting biodiversity and promoting social equity. It proposes expanding access to clean cooking technologies, targeting areas with high deforestation, and integrating sustainable fuel alternatives to reduce pressure on forests, improve public health, and support inclusive, sustainable development in line with Vision 2050.
