In 2023, UNDP’s Global Programme for Strengthening the Rule of Law, Human Rights, Justice and Security for Sustainable Peace and Development will open its new Justice Futures CoLab in The Hague. At the Hague Justice week, UNDP will present this new office and showcase the work in the justice domain.

UNDP and UN Women will present the Women in Justice in Africa Initiative and share lessons learned from the knowledge collaboration between the two agencies on women in justice in Africa. The initiative forms an important part of the strategic alliance between UNDP and UN Women under the Gender Justice Platform.

The event will follow the Hague Talks format. Following opening remarks of the senior representatives of UNDP and UN Women, three women judges from Mozambique, Nigeria and Uganda will share their personal stories on becoming judges. The panel discussion will uncover main challenges for women leading in justice institutions in Africa, spotlight good practices, lessons learned, and recommendations identified through comprehensive research.

The event will be livestreamed. The link will be provided shortly on this page and sent via email to registered participants. Please, register below.
