Be part of the youth anti-corruption competition

UNDP is planning to work with youth in Port Moresby, and in provinces, to engage young people in anti-corruption work through innovative strategies designed to encourage enthusiasm and creativity.

The PNG Anti-Corruption Project is working with young people, to build their awareness of corruption, why it must be addressed, and to engage youth in national and local anti-corruption efforts.

Funded by the European Union, the PNG Anti-Corruption Project is implemented jointly by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

UNDP is specifically working with youth, critical to long term efforts to address corruption in a new generation of Papua New Guineans rejecting corruption as an acceptable norm.

Together with partners from Papua New Guinea, UNDP is planning to work with youth in Port Moresby, and in provinces, to engage young people in anti-corruption work through innovative strategies designed to encourage enthusiasm and creativity.

Youth Essay and Youth Video Competitions

Launched by UNDP Papua New Guinea, within PNG Anti-Corruption Project - the Youth Essay and Youth Video competitions are aimed at promoting integrity and unity among Papua New Guinea youth.

The Essay competition theme is ‘Peace, Unity and Anti-Corruption in Papua New Guinea’. Submit an essay between 150 and 2000 words. Students and youths, 15-18 years are encouraged to apply.

The Video competition theme is ‘I am a person of integrity’ - for students and youths, 14-17 yrs. Only original videos which have not yet been published will be considered for this competition. Any form of plagiarism will result in entry being disqualified.

Submissions for both competitions, launched as part of the Europe Day celebrations in Papua New Guinea, close on 31 October 2022.

Winners will be announced at the celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day on 9 December 2022. For more information, contact communications.png@undp.org
