The Green Finance Facility UN Joint Programme is pioneering an innovative financial mechanism that provides access to affordable finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and underserved households in North Macedonia. For those that are interested the Technology Selector Tool helps to choose the solution that is eligible to apply for a loan with grant (5-10% for SMEs and 30% for households).  

The product categories in the Technology Selector Tool of the Green Finance Facility are part of an online catalogue of eligible high-performance technologies that have already been assessed and approved for financial support. These technologies (technological solutions) meet minimum efficiency requirements and perform better than standard market solutions. The list is periodically adjusted and updated in accordance with market developments, technological advancements, and technology prices. 

The categories of eligible technological solutions for households include:

1. Insulation – mineral wool, extruded polystyrene foam, others.
2. Windows, doors, and glazing – windows (facade and roof; PVC, aluminum, wood; double-glazed, triple-glazed glass, 5-, 6-, 7-chamber systems), doors (PVC, wood), glazing (5- and 7-chamber systems, Thermopane).
3. Heating and cooling – heat pumps (water/water, air/water, air/air, ground/water), biomass boilers/stoves (fireplaces), air conditioners.
4. Lighting – high-pressure sodium lamps, other gas lamps, and LED lamps.
5. Refrigerators and freezers – standalone and combined units.
6. Hot water storage boilers
7. Photovoltaic systems – solar panels and equipment for electricity generation.
8. Ventilation – high-efficiency heat recovery ventilators.
9. Electric vehicles and EV chargers
10. Li-Ion batteries
