This policy brief demonstrates that a range of challenges exist that only relate to being a woman in the fisheries sector. The brief provides evidence from deep dives into 3 COMESA nations (Kenya, Rwanda, and Seychelles) that confirm the prevalence of cultural and traditional prejudice against women. Interviewees agreed that these barriers exclude women and discourage them from entering the industry.
