Background 
As the frontline of the global climate crisis, the Asia-Pacific region is receiving billions of dollars in climate finance to build resilience and accelerate the transition to greener economies. Yet, the success of these initiatives relies entirely on trust and good governance. Ensuring that climate finance is utilized transparently, effectively, and without waste has never been more urgent, making rigorous oversight and financial accountability a cornerstone of climate action.  

Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) play a crucial role in ensuring this transparency and accountability. However, auditing climate finance presents unique challenges, requiring specialized knowledge and cross-border collaboration. 

About the Dialogue 
The Dialogue convenes SAIs from across the Asia-Pacific and beyond to share experiences, methodologies, and findings from recent climate-related audits. Facilitated by the UNDP Climate Finance Network and the Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions (PASAI) with support from the UK's FCDO and Sweden Sida, it aims to strengthen SAIs' capacity for climate action. 

Objectives and expected outcomes:

• Knowledge Exchange: Share findings and lessons learned from recent climate audits, specifically highlighting case studies from Fiji, Maldives, Bangladesh, Vanuatu, and the Philippines. 
• Capacity Building: Identify common challenges in auditing climate finance and explore innovative tools and methodologies to address them. 
• Strengthening Partnerships: Foster collaboration between SAIs, parliaments, civil society organizations, and international development partners to enhance public accountability.
