Podgorica, 30 March 2026 - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro and the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG) have taken a significant step forward in their collaboration by signing a financial agreement in Podgorica, paving the way for the concrete implementation of green transition initiatives.

The agreement focuses on the establishment of a Green Jobs Training Center, which will contribute to the development of new knowledge and skills in line with the principles of a just transition and the priorities outlined in Montenegro’s Reform Agenda.

The EPCG–UNDP partnership is further reinforced by the previously signed Memorandum of Understanding, which provides the foundation for long-term cooperation in the energy transformation process.

In this context, the Pljevlja Coal Mine plays a key role as one of the main actors in the just transition and a primary beneficiary of the activities stemming from this partnership.
