SDG JUST ENERGY TRANSITION PROJECT: EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in consultation with the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM), Guyana Energy Agency (GEA) and the Board of Industrial Training (BIT) with funding by the International Bank for Development (IDB)-Joint SDG Fund are seeking persons to be trained for the “Just Energy Transition Project” which aims to support the growing number of electric vehicles in Guyana by developing the Electro-mobility sector with the necessary infrastructure and technical support to ensure its sustainability.
Therefore, this is a call for suitable applicants with Electrical and/or Mechanical Technician backgrounds to be trained as Trainers in the following areas:
- Electric Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs.
- Installation and Maintenance of Solar PV-powered EV charging stations.
- Installation of Solar Photovoltaic systems to support and supply power for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.
Training Details:
- This training is estimated to be completed in two weeks (14 days).
- It entails a blend of virtual and in-person sessions.
- A BIT certificate will be issued to participants upon successful completion.
Selection Criteria:
Consideration will be given to applicants who fulfil the following criteria:
- Experience as a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) practitioner/trainer with a background in Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) methodology would be considered an asset.
- Have a valid form of Identification (ID card or passport).
- Have supporting documentation that proves knowledge of an Electrical and/or Mechanical Technician background.
- Have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone for participation in online classes.
