Venue: Café du Vieux Conseil, Rue du Vieux Conseil, Port Louis
Time: 10:00 AM to 05:30 PM

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Mauritius warmly invites the public to a unique celebration of sustainable development and partnership. The UNDP Mauritius Open Day is more than an event - it is an opportunity to:

  • Explore how UNDP and its partners are delivering solutions for people and planet
  • Celebrate 60 years of UNDP and over five decades of partnership with the Republic of Mauritius
  • Reaffirm our commitment to supporting the Government and people of Mauritius through the 2024–2028 Country Programme Document

This year’s Open Day also marks the 51st anniversary of the Standard Basic Assistance Agreement (SBAA), signed in 1974, which laid the foundation for UNDP’s collaboration with Mauritius.

Our Work in Mauritius

For over five decades, UNDP has been working with the Government of Mauritius, civil society, the private sector, and development partners to advance inclusive and sustainable growth.
Our programme focuses on five strategic pillars:

  1. Sustainable Livelihoods and Inclusive Growth - Supporting economic diversification, decent job creation, and social protection systems that leave no one behind.
  2. Climate Resilience, Adaptation and Mitigation - Helping communities prepare for and respond to the impacts of climate change through sustainable land, water, and coastal management.
  3. Digitalisation and Innovation - Leveraging technology to improve governance, public services, and economic opportunities.
  4. Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystem Restoration - Protecting Mauritius’ unique terrestrial and marine biodiversity, restoring wetlands, and enhancing ecosystem services.
  5. Mobilizing Private Capital for Development - Unlocking investment for projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Join Us! This Open Day is your chance to see, hear, and experience how partnerships are transforming lives in Mauritius and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
