Internship Opportunity at the Office of the High Commission of the Human Rights

The Office of the High Commission on Human Rights (OHCHR) is looking for interested candidates for an intern position at the OHCHR. The following are the responsabilities and minimum requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Conduct research on specific human rights issues and the recommendations made by different Human rights Mechanisms for implementation by Rwanda;
• Assist in human rights sensitization activities and in the organization of different meetings, seminars and workshops;
• Analyse laws, regulations and guidelines relating to human rights policy in Rwanda, as selected by the SHRA in accordance with the objectives of the SHRA Office;
• Draft different reports on human issues for the SHRA;
• Assist in different daily activities of the SHRA’s office.

ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION

Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must at the time of application meet the following eligibility requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent);
(c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;
(d) Proof of University enrolment;
(e) Proof of Medical clearance;
(f) Proof of Medical Insurance;
(g) CV;
(h) UNDP internship application form duly filled.
