Our Strategic Plan 2022-2025 introduces the evolution of #NextGenUNDP into #FutureSmartUNDP. More than a mantra, it is our new benchmark for success in the future of development. Building on UNDP’s 50 years of expertise across 170 countries, this new approach allows us to focus and prioritize where country demands are greatest. By working together in this way, we aim to expand people’s choices for a fairer, sustainable future, with people and planet in balance.

Myanmar Development Observatory

Working with partners to collect, analyze and disseminate quality data, UNDP’s Myanmar Development Observatory aims to help agencies working in the country to better understand the impact of social, economic and political changes on people and communities.

The Myanmar Information Management Unit (MIMU) compiles data from across Myanmar and shares it in a range of accessible formats to help improve decision-making and analysis, and support the coordination, planning and implementation of humanitarian, development and peace-focused activities.

UNDP supports inclusive development in Rakhine State for all communities. Our activities are focused on improving the living conditions of the most marginalized across the state, including IDPs, Rohingya and other minority groups.

Urban resilience

UNDP is aiming to address urban poverty in Yangon through the Urban Resilience Project (URP), a joint initiative with UN-Habitat and UN Women. It focuses on eight townships identified as the most socially and economically marginalized, aiming to reach more than 450,000 people.
