The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) takes note of the findings of Montenegro’s State Audit Institution (DRI) concerning the Ministry of Health. UNDP respects the mandate of the DRI and recognizes the important role of independent oversight in strengthening transparency, accountability and public trust.
UNDP’s longstanding partnership with the Ministry of Health is firmly grounded in Montenegro’s national priorities and has contributed to the strengthening and modernization of the country’s healthcare system. This cooperation is implemented under agreed legal and financing frameworks, including applicable international agreements, with established mechanisms for planning, reporting, oversight and monitoring.
UNDP operates under a rigorous framework of financial management, procurement and independent oversight. In accordance with the United Nations single-audit principle, UNDP’s financial statements are audited by the United Nations Board of Auditors, while independent internal audits and investigations are conducted by the Office of Audit and Investigations. Relevant audit information is publicly available in line with UNDP’s disclosure policies.
UNDP remains fully committed to transparency, accountability and constructive cooperation with Montenegro’s institutions.
UNDP remains committed to supporting Montenegro’s healthcare reforms, including digital transformation under the National Digital Health Development Strategy 2024–2028, with integrity, transparency and accountability at the core of its work.
