Representatives of UNDP Montenegro and the University of Montenegro sign a Memorandum of Understanding
The Rector of the University of Montenegro, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Montenegro, Ekaterina Paniklova, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a strategic framework for cooperation in key areas — strengthening human capital, digital and green transitions, modern skills development, science, and innovation.
The partnership focuses on shared priorities: creating conditions to retain talent in the country, enhancing innovation capacity, developing infrastructure to encourage youth to stay and work in Montenegro, and promoting jobs of the future. The University of Montenegro expressed full readiness to actively contribute to these goals through its resources and expertise.
“The University of Montenegro is ready to be a partner in projects that strengthen the link between science, society, and development. We believe that quality education, supported by modern infrastructure, can be a key factor in stemming brain drain and building a sustainable future,” emphasized Rector Božović.
UNDP will provide expert support in public procurement, financial management, institutional strengthening, and connecting national scientific research capacities with development projects. The collaboration also includes networking with universities and partners worldwide.
“This partnership unites the power of science with Montenegro’s development priorities. Together, we contribute to the green and digital transition, empower youth and women in education, and connect to global knowledge and innovation flows,” said UNDP’s Resident Representative Paniklova.
