In the village of Slobozia-Măgura in the Sîngerei district, a small family business is proving that tradition and innovation can go hand in hand to support sustainable rural development. Founded in 2014 by Viorel Prisăcari, the Vilador farm is more than just a local dairy producer, it is an example of entrepreneurship that capitalizes on community resources and creates new opportunities for the region's residents.
From field to shelf - an integrated and sustainable circuit
At the Vilador farm, it all starts with caring for nature and the animals. Feed is grown locally and fresh goat's milk is processed directly on the farm. So every product that reaches the consumer's table - be it pasteurized milk, natural yoghurt, sweet curd and cheese or the famous “Brânză de Măgura” - bears the stamp of authenticity and respect for quality.
"We don't have oil or diamonds, instead we have fertile land, and I always wanted to have my own business. I wanted to do this farm to provide consumers with quality natural products, free of E's. Goat's milk was only imported in our shops, that's why I started this business," says Viorel Prisăcari.
According to the entrepreneur, last year 50 tons of milk were processed and this year he aims to reach 70 tons.
The Vilador Farm is part of the “Movila Măgurii” Tourism Cluster, which brings together producers, tourism service providers and public authorities.
With the support of the "EU4Moldova: Focal Regions" programme, funded by the EU and implemented by UNDP and UNICEF, Vilador has invested in modernizing the farm's tourism infrastructure. Today, visitors can enjoy bike rides through the region's picturesque landscapes, outdoor seating areas, a children's playground, horse-drawn carriage rides, a rustic wooden terrace and other amenities that create an authentic and welcoming atmosphere.
Through this integrated approach, the Vilador business has managed not only to diversify its business, but also to offer accommodation and authentic tourism experiences to visitors. Last year, more than 5600 visitors crossed the threshold of the Vilador farm, participating in masterclasses, tastings and outdoor activities. More recently, the entrepreneur is building a craft shop where Vilador brand products will be sold.
In 2025, Vilador Farm also obtained ISO 22000:2018 food safety certification, which gives it more credibility and opens up export opportunities.
With these investments, the Vilador farm not only strengthens its position on the local dairy market, but also becomes an attractive tourist destination, actively contributing to the economic development of the region.
