This report covers main achievements of UNDP Moldova and its partners during 2023-2024.

UNDP’s contributions have been deeply rooted in advancing its development priorities, emphasizing governance reforms, inclusiveness, and resilience – all key to advancing people’s wellbeing, leaving no-one behind. In democratic governance, UNDP created collaborative partnerships to improve the transparency and inclusiveness of electoral processes, empowering citizens to participate meaningfully in shaping their future. 

Similarly, in social protection, we have worked to advance the digital transformation of systems, creating more streamlined, inclusive, and accessible services that ensure the most vulnerable are supported effectively. By harnessing the potential of digital tools, these reforms pave the way for a society that is better equipped to respond to the needs of its people, so as to enjoy better living conditions, in a more prosperous, greener, and forward-looking Moldova.

To foster gender equality and women’s empowerment, UNDP employed an integrated approach to design and deploy targeted interventions fostering women’s leadership, prosperity, and security, seeking to add value beyond institutional and policy frameworks. 

In local and regional development, UNDP’s efforts to advance economic clusters have created opportunities for businesses and communities, driving innovation and resilience in rural areas. Confidence-building measures and initiatives aimed at strengthening social cohesion on both banks of the Nistru River are fostering trust and unity, helping to bridge divides and create a shared vision for the future. 

Energy resilience was at the heart of Moldova’s efforts to accelerate its green and just energy transition. The Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund has emerged as a cornerstone of these efforts, providing vital support to households in need and reinforcing the inclusiveness of the energy system.
