Sweden, the United Kingdom, and UNDP offer support to startups on both banks of the Nistru river

February 28, 2024

Igor Golban has previously benefited from AdTrade's assistance in developing his business.

Sweden, the United Kingdom, and UNDP provide financial assistance for creating small and medium-sized enterprises on both banks of the Nistru river, as part of the "Advanced cross-river capacities for trade" project (AdTrade). Based on a public contest, 10 business ideas of people from both banks of the Nistru river wishing to start an entrepreneurial activity will be selected.

Each winner will receive assistance up to US$15,000 to purchase goods and services and will benefit from free training and mentoring services for over 15 months.

The competition is open to people from both banks of the Nistru river, who can contribute 20 percent of the amount requested in the funding application. Priority will be given to entrepreneurs who employ people from disadvantaged groups, but also to those who will submit innovative projects adapted to the new market requirements.

It is expected that each of the 10 newly opened enterprises will create at least one permanent job, especially for people from vulnerable groups, women, refugees, and migrants who have recently returned to the country. The assistance provided will help future entrepreneurs from both banks of the Nistru river to overcome more efficiently new challenges and crises.

The funding request, along with the filled-in forms, shall be sent to info@innovation.md and alina.rosca@undp.org by 26 March 2024. Subject of the email: ConcursIMM2024/AdTrade. The funding application may be filled out in Romanian or Russian.
