The Interactive Investment Map, a new digital tool available in Romanian and English, has been launched on the Investment Agency website. The map was developed by the Investment Agency, with the support of the European Union and UNDP under the “EU4Moldova: Focal Regions” programme.

It serves as a valuable tool for potential investors, offering quick and detailed access to investment opportunities in each region. By using this tool, investors can make informed decisions about business development and investment.

The platform provides a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the socio-economic potential of every region in the Republic of Moldova. Through an intuitive and interactive interface, the map allows users — including investors, public authorities, and economic actors — to explore relevant economic indicators, sector profiles, and localized investment opportunities, as well as access information about labor force availability.

The map includes at this stage 41 investment profiles focused on the circular economy, green technologies, and responsible consumption from the Cahul and Ungheni regions. These profiles were developed with the support of the “EU4Moldova: Focal Regions” programme and are designed to facilitate the attraction of investments in Moldova’s key sectors.

The library of investment profiles and projects will be continuously updated.

“Technology plays an essential role in transforming the way we present Moldova and all its regions to investors. The Interactive Investment Map is not only a digital tool but also a firm step toward transparency and clarity. Through this new visual and accessible format for presenting investment projects, we offer investors relevant, structured, and localized information, contributing to a more competitive Moldova that is open to strategic partnerships,” mentioned Natalia Bejan, General Director of the Investment Agency of Moldova.

Also with the support of the “EU4Moldova: Focal Regions” programme, investments were made in developing and optimizing business infrastructure to attract new investments in the Cahul and Ungheni regions. In Ungheni, an industrial hub and a Technological Center for Innovation and Production were established. In Colibași, the regional agri-food market in Cahul was modernized, and a Local Business Development Center was created in Crihana Veche. A total of 110 businesses were connected to the sewerage system and 10 enterprises gained access to the potable water supply. The access road to the Free Economic Zone in Ungheni municipality was renovated. These are just a few examples of infrastructure development, including public infrastructure, aimed at attracting new investments.

Through its programmes, UNDP supports the creation and development of regional value chains — currently comprising 17 economic clusters — the increased resilience of small and medium-sized enterprises, the integration of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) principles and circular economy practices in the private sector, the testing and scaling of innovations, and the capitalization on the economic potential of the Moldovan diaspora.

To align investment opportunities with national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UNDP is also supporting the Investment Agency in piloting a market analytics tool — the SDG Investor Map. This tool will bring strategic advantages to the Investment Agency by aligning the country’s development goals with global investment trends and offering valuable information to investors in key sectors such as green energy, infrastructure, agriculture, health, and digitalization.

UNDP and the Investment Agency continue their cooperation on capacity building, export diversification, and investment opportunity analysis, including through a unique national investment portfolio. At the same time, business partnerships between diaspora entrepreneurs and those in Moldova will be supported and facilitated.
