The “Farmers’ Register” information system has been launched
September 28, 2026
The “Farmers’ Register” information system has been launched, providing nationwide digital records of farmers and agricultural activities in the Republic of Moldova.
The Farmers’ Register, part of the Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS), will enable the identification of beneficiaries of financial support provided through the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas.
According to the Strategic Programme of the Agricultural Policy for 2026–2030, registration in the Farmers’ Register will become a mandatory requirement for farmers intending to access financial support from the National Fund.
Currently, data on farmers and agricultural activities are recorded in several state registers, including population, tax, cadastral, and animal registers. The new system connects these sources through the government’s MConnect platform and enables the creation of a single profile of agricultural activity.
As a result, information will only need to be entered once and can be reused when submitting applications for support. Some data will be automatically pre-filled from state registers, reducing the need to repeatedly submit the same documents to different institutions. At the same time, the centralization of information will enable automated eligibility checks and help reduce the processing time for financial support applications, as well as the risk of errors.
Registration is carried out online through the platform http://registrulfermierilor.gov.md/, using authentication via the government’s MPass service. Farmers can register independently or request assistance from the territorial offices of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture. At this stage, approximately 20,000 farmer profiles have been pre-filled in the system.
The information system was developed with financial support from the European Union through the Moldova Growth Plan and with technical support from the United Nations Development Programme, provided through the project “Promoting agricultural development and quality employment for the most vulnerable”.
The user guide, which describes the steps required for registration and data completion, is available at: https://registrulfermierilor.gov.md/user-guide.
