UNDP Mauritius Portfolio Highlights Newsletter - January-June 2026

July 24, 2026

The first half of 2026 has been marked by strong partnerships, innovative solutions and tangible progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Mauritius. Working alongside the Government of Mauritius, civil society, the private sector, academia, local communities and the wider United Nations system, UNDP has continued to support initiatives that strengthen resilience, foster inclusion and help build a more sustainable future for all.

This inaugural January–June 2026 Newsletter offers a snapshot of these efforts, bringing together stories, milestones and reflections from across UNDP's programme portfolio. Readers will discover how collaboration has advanced digital transformation, responsible artificial intelligence, climate action, biodiversity conservation, sustainable land management, the blue economy, women's economic empowerment and evidence-based policymaking. The publication also showcases the people behind these initiatives - from community champions and development partners to UNDP staff - whose collective commitment is helping translate ideas into lasting impact.

More than a record of activities, the newsletter reflects UNDP's integrated approach to development, demonstrating how interconnected solutions can address complex challenges while ensuring that no one is left behind. As Mauritius continues to navigate an evolving development landscape, these stories highlight the power of partnership, innovation and local leadership in shaping a more resilient, inclusive and prosperous future.
