The Malawi Electoral Support Project (MESP) supported the delivery of credible, inclusive, and peaceful elections in 2025 by strengthening the capacity of key institutions, including the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), Centre for Multiparty Democracy (CMD), and Malawi Police Service (MPS). The project enhanced digital systems, cybersecurity, results management, and public communication, while also expanding civic and voter education to reach approximately 8.69 million people nationwide. 

MESP also promoted inclusive participation and conflict prevention by supporting women and youth engagement, strengthening election monitoring, and improving dispute resolution and election security systems. Investments in real-time monitoring, fact-checking, and coordinated response mechanisms contributed to reduced tensions, faster incident response, and a more transparent and trusted electoral process.
