National Distance Education Strategy

During 2022, the Evaluation of UNDP's contribution to the implementation of the distance education and digitalization of education strategy of the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic 2020-2021 was carried out , and as part of the evaluation results, the alliance between MINERD and UNDP was strengthened through the MINERD Institutional Strengthening project, one of its outputs being the “ Strengthening of MINERD's logistics management capabilities, focused on the delivery of equipment and its sustainability, taking advantage of digitalization opportunities and generating social cohesion in the educational community.”
It is worth noting that, as a result of this experience of accompanying the MINERD, which is a reference in digital transformation in education, in order to facilitate South-South cooperation, a mission was carried out to the country in November 2022 headed by the Minister of Education of Brazil, who held high-level meetings with the MINERD and participated in a visit to deliveries of electronic devices to learn about their logistics . As a result of the mission, a suggestion for a similar strategy was incorporated into the transition documents for the newly elected government of Brazil.
