What is the Digital Hub 4 Development?

The Digital Hub 4 Development of Latin America and the Caribbean is a driving force and articulator of the efforts that the region makes around inclusive digitalization. It articulates digital knowledge, expands capabilities, strengthens support in policy development, promotes alliances and opens spaces for knowledge exchange.

What does the HUB do?  

Through coordination between the Regional Bureau of Latin America and the Caribbean and the Chief Digital Office, the Digital Hub 4 Development seeks to ensure that country offices, governments, civil society, academia and private sector actors involved in digitalization find access to relevant resources, tools, best practices, real-world success case studies and other tools to support inclusive digital transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Our Functions:

The UNDP Digital Hub 4 Development is dedicated to enhancing digital transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean by performing 4 key functions:

          1.    Systematize and adapt: 
                 •    Digital demand in the region 
                 •    Curate successful digital solutions within UNDP 
                 •    Adapt, build and test  successful products and services responsibly 
                 •    Identify and address barriers to scaling and adoption

          2.  Advisory support 
                 •    Provide advice and support to UNDP leadership, member states and partners on digital, data,                          innovation,  etc. 
                 •   Offer expertise in drafting digital policies, strategies, and regulations in alignment with global                            best practices and tailored to the specific needs of the country. 
                 •    Support the implementation of e-governance solutions

          3.    Implementation support 
                 •    Support Capacity Building 
                 •    Support digital ecosystem development in the region 
                 •    Coordinate work with the Digital Advocates 
                 •    Coordinate implementation support with CDO 
                 •    Knowledge and Dissemination 
                 •    Conduct research to support evidence-based policymaking 
                 •    Identify and help disseminate knowledge products 
                 •    Promote knowledge exchanges between countries 
                 •    Support digital trainings and online learning

Our Objectives

The Digital Hub 4 Development aims to serve as a centralized regional entity that promotes inclusive digitalization in Latin America and the Caribbean. Its primary mission is to strategically articulate, cultivate and accelerate UNDP's digital objectives and initiatives, supporting country offices and governments to mainstream inclusive digitalization in their actions.
