Data Visualization Platform for Citizen Security,

Violence Against Women and Girls

and Violence Against LGBTQ+ Population

PROJECT OWNER: InfoSegura-UNDP Regional Hub Panama.

The InfoSegura Project drives the use of technology and digitalization by strengthening data ecosystems, developing dashboards for displaying information on citizen security, violence against women and girls and related factors. This strengthens information management for citizen security, promoting the analysis and use of data to feed policies. The aim is to increase regional coordination and collaboration in state strategies to reduce violence and improve citizen security and coexistence in Central America.

The dashboards house over two million reported cases, providing detailed information on key indicators of crime incidence, violence against women and girls, human mobility and citizen security, violence against youth and data on vulnerability and violence against LGBTQ+ population. It should be noted that the data is from official sources.

Dashboard design is aligned with UNDP and USAID digital strategies, which reinforces the importance of safety of digital data ecosystems, protecting personal data, classifying and handling sensitive information, while promoting the generation of inclusive information.
