Innovation and digitalization in governance

United Nations Development Programme, Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea, National Information Society Agency of the Republic of Korea and Astana Civil Service Hub start implementation of joint project in the field of innovation and digitalization in governance.

For this purpose, the United Nations Development Programme in Kazakhstan and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea have signed a Grant Arrangement Agreement for the implementation of the regional project “Capacity Building for Innovation in Governance and Digitalization of Public Services”.

Objectives:

The main objective of the Project is to adapt good practices in governance innovation and introduce differentiated modalities in public service delivery digitalisation covering the countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) and the Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia). The Project will be implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Kazakhstan utilising the capacity of the Astana Civil Service Hub, as a multilateral knowledge exchange platform, which will closely work with the respective government’s counterparts, central and local government agencies, special bodies and institutions, experts, and policy makers of participating countries in the project implementation.   

Outcomes:

·     Enhanced knowledge of public officials in the participating countries on the concept and practice of innovation in government and on digitalisation processes in public service delivery;

·     Enhanced capacity of public officials in the participating countries to introduce innovative practices and digitalise public services delivered through differentiated channels;
