Creation of conditions for the reintroduction of the Turan tiger and assistance in the preservation of natural, historical and cultural objects of the Ulytau mountain range
The Project is aimed at creating a sustainable base for reintroduction of tigers in historical habitats, spanning the Ile-Balkhash State National reserve, conservating the natural, historical and cultural heritage of Ulytau mountain range and adjacent territories, and promoting the tourist sites in this unique region.
The key objectives of the project:
Creation of the necessary conditions for the reintroduction of tigers on the basis of the Ile-Balkash State Nature Reserve,
Assessment of the state of the objects of natural, historical and cultural heritage of the Ulytau mountain range and the development of measures to improve their condition, protection and use for scientific, cultural and recreational purposes,
Inform and work with local communities to educate and engage people in biodiversity conservation.
