UNOPS

The Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme provides young professionals interested in pursuing a career in international work with practical experience in a United Nations organization. Assignments may have a regional, national or sectoral focus and can last for one to three years. JPOs are sponsored by member states.

Under the guidance of a senior member of UNOPS, JPOs assigned to UNOPS learn from experienced colleagues how to implement projects within areas central to UNOPS operations such as project management, procurement, human resources and finance The history of JPO retention in UNOPS and the high value we place on their services ensures a secure and supportive environment for their professional development in the United Nations. JPOs are given the opportunity to make a real impact and contribution to the goals of the organization.
The programme is open to nationals of certain donor countries, while a few donor countries fund nationals of developing countries. Interested candidates should apply directly to the authorities of the relevant member state and not through UNOPS.

UNOPS supports professional development and builds teams that strive to achieve the highest standards of performance. We provide a range of opportunities for continued career development, professional growth and continued learning. Internal eLearning system is available for JPOs.
