Executive Board delegates visit Jordan to observe the implementation of UN-supported programmes and to engage with national partners and communities across the country.
Amman, 18 October 2025 — A delegation of United Nations ambassadors from the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has arrived in Amman for a multi-day field visit to Jordan. The visit aims to observe the implementation of UN-supported programmes and to engage with national partners and communities across the country.
The mission follows the Executive Board’s recent endorsement of the new four-year strategic plans for UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS, which reaffirm the commitment of the three organizations to supporting Jordan’s national development priorities.
Over the coming days, the delegation will meet with senior government officials and visit a range of programme sites and initiatives implemented in partnership with national and local institutions in Amman, Madaba, Karak, Aqaba and the Zaatari refugee camp.
The visit underscores the value of close collaboration between the three UN entities and their partners in advancing sustainable development, resilience, and inclusion in Jordan. The country offices of UNDP, UNFPA, and UNOPS welcome the delegation’s visit as an opportunity to showcase the tangible results of their joint work, and to benefit from the Board’s oversight, guidance, and strategic perspective.
Together, UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS manage a significant, multi-year portfolio in Jordan, contributing to national efforts in areas such as climate resilience, inclusive growth, health, governance, and social protection.
