SCAM ALERT
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is aware of various fraudulent procurement notices and requests that are being circulated via email or other means of communication falsely asking for money transfer, offers and proposals from individuals, suppliers, service providers, and contractors in Iraq.
Such requests may seek to extract professional details and information as well as money through processing and administrative fees. These emails and documents contain fraudulent return email addresses and bear an unauthorized UNDP or UN emblem or name. Such proposals have no connection whatsoever with UNDP.
Please be aware that:
- UNDP and its office in Iraq do not conduct procurement processes through external entities or individuals on a commission basis.
- UNDP does not charge a fee at any stage of its recruitment process (application, interview, processing, training, visa or other fee). Go to https://www.undp.org/iraq/careers and click on Vacancies to see the latest career opportunities with UNDP.
- UNDP does not charge a fee at any stage of its procurement or contract process (supplier registration, bids submission, award or other fee). Go to https://www.undp.org/iraq/procurement to see the latest business opportunities with UNDP.
- UNDP does not request or issue personal bank checks, or any other type of money transfer at any stage of its procurement and recruitment processes.
- UNDP does not request any information related to bank accounts or other private information prior to formal registration as a vendor through official email addresses (domain ending @undp.org or self-registration through UNDP Quantum Supplier Portal).
- All UNDP email addresses end with “@undp.org”
- UNDP does not offer prizes, awards, funds, certificates, or scholarships through telephone.
- We strongly recommend that recipients of solicitations to apply for positions or engage in procurement exercises exercise caution regarding such solicitations.
- Financial loss and identity theft can result from the transfer of money or personal information to those issuing such fraudulent correspondence. UNDP is not responsible for such loss or theft.
