About the Training

This three-day training, titled “Environmental Justice in the Digital Age”, is designed to equip early-career journalists with the essential skills needed to uncover environmental injustices and produce high-impact, evidence-based stories that serve the public interest.

The training is part of the EU-funded Anti-Corruption and Arbitration Initiatives for Environmental Justice project (ACAI II). It aims to strengthen accountability and transparency in Iraq by supporting journalists in transforming raw story ideas into high-quality investigative reports that inform public dialogue and policymaking.

The training is delivered by award-winning international experts.

Participants Will Learn

  • Core fundamentals of investigative journalism
  • Story development: moving from concept to solid hypothesis
  • Fact-checking and advanced verification techniques
  • Journalism ethics and constructive reporting
  • Data analysis basics and tracking environmental misinformation
  • Producing short, fact-based video investigations
