Levan Bouadze
Levan Bouadze (Georgia) assumed the role of Resident Representative ad interim for UNDP in the Islamic Republic of Iran on 18 January 2024. He is temporarily seconded from his role as Chief of Strategic Planning and Oversight Team in UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific where he leads the Bureau’s corporate planning and oversight in more than 30 countries of the region.
From July 2019 till January 2023 Levan was Resident Representative of UNDP Multi-Country Office in Fiji where he led UNDP’s country programmes in 10 small island developing states. Levan worked both in the field and headquarters. He started his UN career in his native country serving as National Programme Officer at UNDP Georgia (1996).
He holds a Master of Philosophy in Economics from University of Oxford, UK; Master of Social Sciences, University of Birmingham, UK, and Diploma in Industrial Economics and Planning, Tbilisi State University, Georgia. In free time, he enjoys reading history and learning languages and is an avid fan of Rugby Union.
