New UNDP Resident Representative begins assignment in Iran with presentation of credentials

Tehran, 17 August 2026 – Levan Bouadze, the newly appointed Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Islamic Republic of Iran, presented his credentials to H.E. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on 17 August 2026.
The meeting marked the formal commencement of Mr. Bouadze’s assignment in Iran, building on six decades of cooperation between UNDP and Iran in support of the country’s development priorities.
UNDP remains committed to supporting Iran’s national development priorities and advancing sustainable development through continued partnership and technical cooperation.
Mr. Bouadze assumed his duties as UNDP Resident Representative in Iran in August 2026.
